Deputy leadership
Sir,—l just had to allow myself a wee smile at Bert Walker’s comment that Ruth Richardson missed the deputy leadership because of her “enthusiasm and the fact that she was a woman.” If I could be so
bold as to make one small observation it would be that, at least in contrast to some other past and present male M.P.s, she is a "young” woman.—Yours, etc., FRED BULL. September 15,1987.
