Six years jail for raping girl
PA ' Auckland A Papakura man, aged 28, found guilty otr multiple charges of raping* a girl, was sentenced to six years .jail when he appeared in the High Court at Auckland. The offences were committed over a period of almost 10 years, the Court heard earlier.
Mr Justice Tompkins suppressed the defendant’s name to protect the identity of the victim, a member of., the man's family. *
The defendant was sentenced to six years jail on six charges of rape and four years jail on each of two counts of performing an indecent act on a girl under 12. . The sentences were ordered to be served concurrently.
