Netball final
Villa Maria yesterday beat Rangi Ruru 39-26, in the final of the A grade of the South Island secondary school’s netball com■petition at Hagley Park .courts. The final was played in two 20min halves and Villa Maria led at halftime, 21-13.
In the second half as the speed of play hastened, mistakes crept in but both goal shoots, Anna Bilbrow (Rangi Ruru) and Ita O’Rourke (Villa) were on form and rarely missed any shots.
Results from semifinals.—
A grade: Villa Maria 45, Gore 31; Verdon 24, Rangi Ruru 33.
B grade: Tokamiriro 32, Roxburgh 27; Darfleld 28, Golden Bay 23.
