The primary function of the Management Development Unit is to promote the development of managers to enable them to make best use of the human and financial resources with which they are entrusted to meet Departmental commitments and priorities. While the Unit has responsibility for the development of management training programmes it has a broader role in relation to senior managers. For these managers the Unit delivers courses, as welTas providing a consultancy service. The Unit also has a role in relation to quality assurance of management training throughout the Department. Applicants will have extensive experience in management training, organisation development, and in providing advice to senior management. In addition applicants should be able to demonstrate initiative, objectivity, sensitivity to others and openness to change.
