The appointee will be required to advise on and help co-ordinate the planning and development of effective alcohol related prevention and treatment services, to liaise with service providers, and to represent ALAC’s policies to them and the public. The appointee will also be involved with the development and organisation of training in the substance abuse field and with funding of alcohol related programmes. The appointee will be asked to assume some administrative responsibilities in the Northern Regional Office. Experience or understanding of the alcohol field would be an advantage. An ability to communicate and liaise with a broad range of service providers and administrators is essential. An amount of travel and public speaking will be necessary.
