Perms for long, styled looks

Perms are back in a big way, especially for long hair, according to Richard Kownacki, Australian hotshot style innovator and compulsive New Zealand visitor who was recently in Christchurch as guest of Helene Curtis. ' While on his latest perming trip Richard discovered a curious thing about girls with long hair ... they don’t mind if you cut their hair so long as it

still looks long. So the new styles, which are both cut and permed so they can look both long and short, offer the hairdresser and the client a lot more scope. Long, soft, wispy, tendrilly, feathery perms cut around solid shapes allow girls to keep their hair very long and very styled. Whether they are long or short, everything has lots of shape.

The new Angel look has a long back and sides but the top layers are cut into 'an internal bob which is also permed, so you have a curly bob sitting above the long wispy tendrils. This style can be worn up as well as down. The ponytail perm is especially for' girls who want bulk at the bottom. The hair is put up into a ponytail which is penned leaving the hair on the.
