Bolshoi Ballet to dance in Chch
Russia’s famous Bolshoi Ballet will dance in Christchurch in September. >
Seventy-five members of the Bolshoi Ballet Company will dance a threenight performance at the Theatre Royal from September 28 to 30. The Christchurch season is part of an Australasian tour.
The company will dance the second act of “Giselle” and excerpts from such ballets as "Swan Lake,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Don Quixote” and “Spartacus.” Featured dancers will include Nedezhda Pavlova, Yuri Vladimirov, Nina Sorokina, Valeri Anisimov, Michael Gobovich and Vacheslav Gordeev. Conductors from the Bolshoi Theatre will lead an orchestra of 60 which includes musicians from the Bolshoi orchestra.
The company will also perform in Wellington and Auckland.
