Director at large
A retired director of the New Zealand Forestry Council has been elected a “director-at-large” of the International Society of Tropical Foresters. Dr Dennis Richardson has become one of three directors of the organisation, which has a membership of more than 100 countries. The first New Zealander to be elected to a directorship, Dr Richardson was also the first director of the Forest Research Institute at Rotorua in the early 19605. He has also worked for the Asian Development Bank in Manila, and as a professor of forestry at the University of Technology in Papua New Guinea.
