The appointee will be responsible for all aspects of Council’s Involvement in solid wastes planning, collection and disposal. There Is a challenging range of duties with special emphasis currently oh developing Council’s landfill management, hazardous wastes policy, and litter programmes. Applicants must be either a Graduate Engineer with an active study programme for completion of registration or an REA with NZCE. Some municipal engineering experience Is preferable. We are seeking a well motivated engineer who is able to relate well with the public, contractors and other members of Council’s staff. The salary for this position is currently graded at 4.9 of the Whangarei City Council salary scale which currently equates to between $33,125 and $35,169.
