NZPA-AFP Windsor Princess Anne won the most valuable race for women amateur riders at Ascot on Saturday by taking the $NZ13,200 Dresden Diamond Stakes on Ten No Trumps. “He ran at his own pace,” she said. “It didn’t require any special effort from me, but it was great
to race on such a good course and we enjoyed ourselves.”
Watched by the Queen, Prince Phillip and the Queen Mother, Princess Anne quickly had the race sewn up, winning by four lengths from the favourite, Tahilla. Ten No Trumph was at odds of nintjt-to-one.
