$12.68 suit against 15 Filipino businessmen
NZPA-Reuter Manila Government lawyers have filed a SUS7.S billion ($12.68) suit against 15 Philippine businessmen as part of a campaign to recover wealth alleged to have been stolen during the 20-year rule of the former President, Ferdinand Marcos. by defendants, acting singly or collectively and in unlawful concert with one another, include theft of public funds, plunder of the nation’s wealth, extortion, blackmail and other acts of corruption,” the commission said. The suit was the fourteenth case filed against relatives and associates of the Marcos’ since July 16. It brought to $U547.58 the total amount of damages sought from more than 100 people linked with Mr Marcos. —- i ■
