A further pre-election announcement on funding in a marginal seat has been made for Bluff’s Maritime Museum Trust. The Minister of Tourism, Mr Moore, said $lOO,OOO would be pro-
vided by the Government to the trust to help relocate the museum on the Bluff foreshore. He said the money had been made available under the Community and Public Sector grants scheme. The Labour Party candidate for the National-
held marginal seat of Awarua, Ms Heather Simpson, welcomed the announcement. The museum was the only one of its kind in the South Island, providing a history of the region dating back to sealing days and the beginning of the oyster industry, she said.
