One hockey change

The Auckland selectorcoach, Kevin Towns, has. made one change to the men’s hockey squad which won the Champions tournament at Porritt Park last month, for the game against Canterbury at the same venue on Sunday. Before the Champions tournament Mr Towns said he had had difficulty settling on a right-half after the retirement of Arthur Parkin. At the Champions tournament he used Graeme Hall at right-half
in the main games, but Hall has been dropped from the squad to travel J- to Christchurch and Well- ■ ington this week-end. ‘ Ross Fowler, an Auck- ’ land representative several seasons ago, and a former New Zealand Universities player, will be at
right-half on Sunday. The Auckland squad for the Canterbury game is: Don Davis, lan Woodley; Graeme Child, Chan Chiba, Anthony Thornton, Fowler, Jeff Archibald, Chris Brown (captain); Paresh Patel, Mark Kake, Mark Leaver, Peter Daji, Jim Smith, Simon Norton. The Auckland B team to
play Canterbury B and the Auckland women’s team to play Canterbury, also on Sunday, have also been named. They are: Auckland B: Steven Hazard, Bill Brown, Jeff Coldham, Dave Peterson, Lan Edmeads, Alan Teixeira, Mark Smith, Kiran Jasmet, Jonathan Mayo, Hugh Compain, Craig Russ, Derek Leaver, Manoj Daji, Auckland women: Lesley Going (captain), Lorraine Vickery, Louise Johnson, Chris Madill, Elizabeth Miller, Louise Simpson (vicecaptain), Sue McHaffieGreen, Beverley Murray, Cheryl Law, Linda Civil, Leanne Birkenhead, Margaret Edge.
