Three for world event
Three Christchurch croquet players have been invited to compete in a prestigious American invitation tournament which will feature the top 36 singles players in the world. John Prince, Roger Murfitt and Graham Beale leave Christchurch tomorrow for San Francisco where they will play for 10 days in the tournament, which is sponsored by wine producers. Prince, aged 42, is the present New Zealand open champion and is ranked number one in the country. He has been selected six times for New Zealand’s Macßobertson Shield team, a record for the international tournament, and he was captain of the national team last year.
