New senior farmer
PA Wellington Federated Farmers yesterday elected a new senior vice-chairman, Mr Owen Jennings, and a new junior vice-chairman, Mr Keith Hanning. The federation, which is holding its annual conference in Wellington, elected Mr Brian Chamberlin as president on Tuesday to succeed Mr Peter Elworthy who did not stand again. Mr Jennings, aged 42, was formerly junior vicechairman. He joined Federated Farmers in 1965 as secretary to the Karamea branch. He has had a Nuffield farming scholarship, and is a foundation director of the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust.
