In the Cactus
Cactus Club, a large Dunedin band, make the trek to Christchurch to play at the Old Star Tavern tomorrow and Saturday evenings. Three members of the band — Sam Bosshard (guitar), Martin Downie (guitar), and Scott Brown (bass) — come from the popular 1984-85 Dunedin band, Government Life. Besides the three 'former members of Government Life, the others in the band are David Price (drums), Lisa Bosshard (vocals), Steve Douglas (saxophone). Although not yet down on vinyl, the band are hoping to rectify that. They have applied for a recording grant from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council. Naughty Amoeba, another Dunedin band, are on the bill with Cactus Club.
Nelsh Bailter Space, from Christchurch, play at the same venue this evening.
