Nearco’s Grey works boldly
Special correspondent Dunedin Nearco's Grey confirmed his good recent race form when he worked boldly at Wingatui yesterday morning. Nearco’s Grey was shading Anzonetta at the end of 800 m in 50.8 s on a firm sand. Nearco’s Grey has turned in top efforts for seconds at his last two starts and he is in line for a win in the Owners’ and Trainers’ at the South Canterbury Hunt meeting to-
morrow. Friendly Boy and Kiwi Boy ran 800 m in 51s, the last 600 m in 38.65. Baliway went keenly when sprinting 600 m with Noble Pal and Bright Prelude In 39.35. Baliway has had somei jumping since he last raced in March. Dark Legend, Katiki Beach and Red Alibi ran 600 m in 39.85. Katiki Beach and Spanish Treasure will not start tomorrow due to wide barrier draws.
