Canterbury Employers’ Association INDUSTRIALOFFICER/ADVOCATE (Legal Qualification Preferred) Christchurch The Association provides a wide range of services to employers in all matters relating to labour relations and accompanying legislation. The Association engages a team of Industrial Officers and Advocates with responsibility for membership services and a significant number of award and agreement negotiations at both local and national level. Representing employers in the newly established Labour Court will be an important aspect of the Association work. The appointment is likely to be made at Industrial Officer level, with initial responsibilities emphasising liaison with employers in meeting their information needs. It is anticipated that the appointee would also assume an advocacy role in due course. Preference will be given to applicants qualified in law, and who have experience in industrial relations, commerce or law. The appointee will gain exposure to a wide range of labour relations issues, and will work with the new procedures under the Labour Relations Act.
