Cycling post to Chch man
The New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association has appointed Gordon Reid, of Christchurch, to the new position of administration officer. The secretary and treasurer posts have been dropped. Mr Reid’s appointment was made at the association’s annual nieeting in Wellington last week-end. Physical aspects of the
sports were discussed at the meeting. A one-day racing licence, for a fee, designed to attract non-competitive riders to the sport, was discussed. It was confirmed that car-bon-fibre wheels will not be permitted in any novice (under 16) competition race. A women’s 40km team will
be permitted in road races. This brings the women’s grade into line with other grades. Graham Sycamore, Gordon Sharrock and Gary Bell were re-elected New Zealand selectors. Barbara Levido will continue as president and Bruce Shephard as chairman.
