First acceptances for Winter Cup
Fifty-three horses remained in the $50,000 International Trucks Winter Cup, to be run at Riccarton on August 8, when first acceptances were taken at noon yesterday. The most notable defection was Magnitude while Jayell’s Pride, Avontor and Indian Joy were other northern nominations which did not accept. A defector from southern stables was the Royal Noble mare Vendee and the second payment was not made either for Palatable Prince.
