Counterpunch from Mr Bob Jones
Mr Bob Jones has counterpunched an attack by the member of Parliament for Sydenham, Mr Anderton. Jones had not changed but the Labour Party had, he said on Friday.
“Let me assure Mr Anderton that I have far better things to do with my time than deliver speeches for Labour or any other candidates. “If instead of issuing
public statements Mr Anderton were to address his complaints to his colleagues who have approached me and not me them, they and the public would be more impressed by his protest. “However, consistent as always, Mr Anderton is out of line with his fellow members of Parliament and accordingly worked behind their backs,” said Mr Jones.
“It is not I who has changed horses but his party who now subscribes to and practises all of the reforms and policies that I have advocated consistently for two decades. All power to them.”
Mr Jones has this week confirmed he will speak at Labour Party meetings on August 4 in Pakuranga, the most marginal seat, and on August 6 in Gisborne.
