Rape by four men alleged
PA Wellington Police inquiries are continuing into the rape of a woman by four men in central Wellington. The police say the four men dragged the woman across Taranaki Street and into the Mount Cook School grounds, where she was repeatedly raped. Detective Senior-Sergeant
Harry Quinn said the woman had been walking along Cuba Street towards Vivian Street, on her way home on Friday evening. He said she was accosted by the men, whom she did not know. Other people on foot had seen what was happening but did nothing. The woman managed to escape and the police were telephoned about 3 a.m., he said.
