Tenders THE BAY OF PLENTY HARBOUR BOARD FOR SALE BY TENDER THE Cutter Suction Dredge “Taremoana” is offered for sale “as Is, where is” at the Port of Tauranga. The dredge was refloated and handed over to the Board by Salvors on May 27, 1987, after sinking in the Stella Passage on April 3, 1987. Corrosion Inhibition work has been carried out on the machinery, largely with the use of Shell Ensls products, but the general condition and appearance of the vessel are consistent with her having spent more than a month on the harbour bottom. Brief description of dredge: Built: Whangarel Engineering and Construction, Ltd. Date: 1970. Dimensions: Length on deck, 29.0 m; breadth moulded, 8.3 m; depth, 2.6 m; mean draft approx. 1.6 m; dredging depth, 12.0 m. Machinery: Two Lister Blackstone turbo charged diesel engines, type ESSR 8M driving 18/16 centrifugal dredge pumps (one with damaged casing)- In series, through reduction gearboxes. One Lister Blackstone naturally aspirated engine type ERSBMA driving the main electrical generators. ' One Harbour generator set comprising generator and air compressor driven by a Lister HA6MA air cooled diesel engine. Three main multiple deck winches are fitted for spud operation, ladder raise and lower, and ladder traverse. Appropriate auxllliary machinery is installed. Copies of the original builders’ specification and general arrangement drawings will be available to prospective tenderers on personal application to the office of the Chief Engineer, Bay of Plenty Harbour Board, Salisbury Avenue, Mount Maunganui.
