Defamation writs filed
PA Wellington Defamation proceedings claiming a total of $BOO,OOO damages have been filed against four National Party officials and a Palmerston North newspaper. Solicitors for Juno Group Holdings, Ltd, have filed proceedings. The National Party’s Palmerston North branch president, Franciscus Maria Joseph Vandenberg, and secretary, Reginald Chales Rusk, are being sued jointly for $200,000.
Three more actions for $200,000 each have been filed against the National Party’s Palmerston North candidate, Paul James Curry, National’s member of Parliament for Manawatu, Michael Ernest Christopher Cox, and the “Manawatu Evening Standard” newspaper.
