Canty wrestlers win 13 S.I. titles
Canterbury wrestlers won . 13 of the 30 titles contested at the South Island championships at Mosgiel on Saturday. As well, Canterbury won three team trophies and three Canterbury wrestlers won individual trophies. Three Canterbury clubs, Crichton Cobbers (CC) Rangiora (R) and Aorangi (A) won four titles each, .while Bryndwr (B) won one. Three of the titles were won by wrestlers from a visiting American team on an lowa Sport for Understanding exchange. A title holder from last year, but competing in a heavier grade this year, Neil Clerk (Rangiora) was put out of the tournament when he broke a finger while leading in a second round junior bout. The tournament was considered a good warm-up to the national championships to be held at Tauranga next month. Canterbury won the Lion
