‘Deadly weapon’
NZPA-Reuter Minneapolis A prison inmate who bit two prison guards after testing positive for A.I.D.S. will appeal against his conviction of assault with a deadly weapon, the attorneys involved said yesterday. A' jury found James Moore guilty of two counts of assault with a deadly and dangerous weapon — his mouth and teeth — after he bit two guards a total of four
times, breaking the skin of one of them, in a scuffle in January. Moore bit the guards when they attempted to handcuff -him after he failed to respond to questions about a cigarette smoking incident, the prosecutor, Jon Hopeman, of the Minneapolis District Attorney’s Office said.
Neither guard has tested positive yet for the acquired immune deficiency syndrome disease.
