APPRAISAL POSITION IN BUILDINC RESEARCH FIELD The Building Research Association of New Zealand is an industry backed independent research and testing organisation whose purpose . is to distribute, through various publications and services, information and advice about building to the building industry. An increased demand on its appraisal services has required the appointment of a new member to the BRANZ staff group working on development, evaluation and appraisal of new, innovative products in the building industry. This interesting, ever-changing position involves direct interaction with clients, organisation of test work, evaluation of results and liaison with other staff and organisations. The outcome of a ■ successful appraisal is a published BRANZ Appraisal Certificate. Engineering, architectural or design qualifications are desired along with an appreciation and understanding of building materials and components. Experience with design and construction of buildings in New Zealand would be an advantage.
