Hospital Board Appointments DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED from medical practitioners for the position of Deputy Director of Diagnostic Radiology in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Princess Alexandra Hospital. GENERAL INFORMATION: Princess Alexandra Hospital is a major teaching hospital of 1200 beds associated with the University of Queensland. All specialties except obstetrics, paediatrics and cardiac surgery are represented. There are at present 6 full-time radiologists and 8 visiting radiologists appointed. There are 6 radiology registrars in training. The Department of Diagnostic Radiology performs approximately 90,000 examinations per year of which 1500 are invasive procedures. State of the art C.T. scanning, ultrasound and nuclear radiology are available within the Department. It is one of five sites in which M.R.I. is to be evaluated. An M.R.L unit is presently being installed. Remuneration will be $Au5t60,854.90 consisting of base salary plus an on call allowance. Call-ins attract additional payment. Right of private practice up to sAustls,ooo per annum is permitted. Conditions of service include five weeks annual leave, sick leave, conference leave and long service leave. Masterton Hospital is a 200-bed base hospital servicing the Wairarapa area of around 45,000 population. Both appointees would be part of a team of four anaesthetists.
