Paralysed by knitting needle

By

ROBIN CHARTERIS

in London A Gloucester boy has been left paralysed from the neck down after he stabbed himself with a knitting needle left on couch. Stephen Dent, aged 11, impaled himself on his mother’s knitting after leaping on to the couch. The needle pierced his neck and touched the spinal cord.

Hospital specialists have failed to find a cure after four months treatment and Stephen will probably be confined to a bed and wheelchair for the rest of his life.
