Passengers delayed
More than 250 Welling-ton-bound passengers were delayed at Christchurch Airport yesterday because of low cloud and reduced visibility in the capital. Four flights to Wellington and four from Wellington were cancelled, but by last evening all passengers had reached their destinations, said the airport’s passenger supervisor, Mr Laurie Watkins. A flight to and from the West Coast was also cancelled because the connecting plane did not arrive. About 25 passengers were taken to and from the West Coast by bus. Delays of about an hour were experienced in flights to Wellington last evening.
