Sir, —The comment by the archdeacon (June 17) ■ that we might refer to God as “our Mother and Father” moves me to wonder if he has considered the theological implications of this. The Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Ghost might have to be replaced by a quartet — Mother, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Further, to be consistent, he might consider “daughter and son” for a quintet. All of these changes, taken together, would replace a personal God with a set of familial ones. These consequences would be avoided if the archdeacon referred to God as "Our Mother or Father.” — "Yours, etc., MARK FRANCIS. June 17, 1987.
