‘Coronation Street’ baby victim of cot death
NZPA London The “Coronation Street” baby, Leah King, who appeared as Gail Tilsley’s daughter in the long-run-ning Granada TV soap opera, has died from cot death syndrome aged five months. Leah was one of twin daughters bom prematurely to a Manchester couple on Christmas Eve. She was certified dead last Friday when brought
to the city’s Booth Hall children’s hospital. A spokeswoman for the Manchester District Coroner said today: “Leah King died from sudden infant death syndrome, commonly known as cot death. “Death was from natural causes. There will be no inquest” Millions of viewers had seen her and her twin sister Lindsay over recent
months in the TV series. The twins - were the daughters of a factory worker, Michael King, 28, and his 27-year-old wife, Kim, of Miles Plattin, Manchester... • They were chosen to appear as Gail’s new baby, Sarah Louise, and both appeared in different episodes to ease the strain on each of them. Leah was used for most of the filming, however.
