One small sip for the ambassador and the astronaut — but a giant leap for New Zealand’s dairy industry as the N.A.S.A. scientist and Challenger crew member, Dr Don Lind (right) and the American Ambassador to New Zealand, Mr Paul Cleveland, meet at Christchurch Airport yesterday. Dr Lind is in the city during a month-long speaking tour. Mr Cleveland addressed a meeting of local manufacturers, retailers and Chamber of Commerce members last evening. There was time for a glass of milk before the two men launched themselves into their itineraries.
