Rangiora District Council NOTICE OF ESTIMATES AND INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES AND CHARGES Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1974, the Rating Act 1967 and amendments thereto. Public Notice is hereby given that the Rangiora District Council at its meeting held on Bth June 1987, prepared and approved the Estimates of Income and Expenditure for the financial year commencing Ist April 1987 and ending on 31st March 1988. A copy of the approved estimates is available for public inspection during normal office hours, at the public office of the Council, 215 High Street, Rangiora. PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that it is the intention of the Rangiora District Council at a meeting to be held on Friday 26th June 1987 In the Council Chambers, H|gh Street, Rangiora to make rates and charges on all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Roll for the District of Rangiora, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1974, the Rating Act 1967 and amendments thereto such rates and charges being inclusive of Goods and Services Tax. 1. A General Rate of two decimal one one one one (2.1111) of a cent in the dollar on the rateable land value of all property within the Urban Division of the District. 2. A General Rate of decimal four nought seven three (.4073) of a cent in the dollar on the rateable land value of all property within the Rural Division of the District. 3. A uniform annual general charge of $l3O (one hundred and thirty dollars) on each separately rateable property within the Urban Division of the District. 4. A uniform annual general charge of $75 (seventy five dollars) on each separately rateable within the Rural Division of the District. 5. A Recreation Library rate of decimal four three five (.435) of a cent in the dollar on the rateable land value of all property within the Urban Division for the purposes of administration and maintenance of the Rangiora Public Library. 6. A uniform charge of $l5O (one hundred and fifty dollars) in respect of an ordinary supply of water to all dwelling units connected to the Cust Domestic Water Supply, which annual charge shall be $75 (seventy five dollars) in respect of rateable property situated within 100 metres from any part of the water works to which water can be, but is not supplied. A unit charge of $7O (seventy dollars) in respect of the properties connected to the Summerhill Rural Water Supply, plus a charge for all water Used at the rate of $ 1.40 for 12. A uniform charge of $95 (ninety five dollars) in respect of an ordinary supply to all dwelling units connected to the Waikuku Beach Water Supply which annual charge shall be $47.50 (forty seven dollars fifty cents) in respect of rateable property situated within 100 metres from any part of the waterworks to which water can be, but is not supplied. 15. A uniform charge of $l6O (one hundred and sixty dollars) in respect of an ordinary supply to all dwelling units connected to the Woodend Water Supply which annual charge shall be $BO (eighty dollars) in respect of rateable property situated within 100 metres from any part of the water works to which water can be, but is not supplied. For properties connected to the water works outside the residential zone, the uniform charge shall be $l6O (one hundred and sixty dollars) for a metered supply of 700 cubic metres per annum. Water used in excess of 700 cubic metres will be charged at the rate of 50 cents per cubic metre. 16. A uniform charge of $75 (seventy five dollars) in respect of an ordinary water supply to all dwelling units connected to the Pines and Kalraki Water Supply. 17. A uniform charge of $166 (one hundred and sixty six dollars) in respect of an ordinary supply to all dwelling units connected to the Fernside Water Supply which annual charge shall be $B3 (eighty three dollars) In respect of rateable property situated within 100 metres from any part of the water works to which water can be, but is not supplied. 18. Extraordinary water supply charges calculated on a multiple basis of the Uniform Fee (ranging from x 1 to x 24) to those businesses, industries, schools, etc connected to the Council’s water supplies. ‘ , 19. A uniform charge of $25 (twenty five dollars) for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain to the public sewerage systems in Waikuku Beach Sewerage Area which annual charge shall be $12.50 (twelve dollars fifty cents) in respect of rateable property situated within 30 metres of the sewerage scheme which is capable of being effectively connected either directly or through a private drain. 20. A uniform charge of $ll5 (one hundred and fifteen dollars) for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain to the public sewerage systems In the Woodend Sewerage Area which annual charge shall be $57.50 (fifty seven dollars fifty cents) In respect of rateable property situated within 30 metres of the sewerage system which is capable of being effectively connected either directly or through a private drain. A uniform charge of $165 (one hundred and sixty five dollars) for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain to the public sewerage systems in the Woodend Beach Sewerage Area which annual charge shall be $82.50 (eighty two dollars fifty cents) in respect of rateable property situated within 30 metres of the sewerage system which is capable of being effectively connected either directly or through a private drain. A uniform charge of $195.00 (one hundred and ninety five dollars) for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain to the public sewerage systems in the Pines-Kairaki Beach Sewerage Area which annual charge shall be $97.50 (ninety seven dollars fifty cents) in respect of rateable property situated within 30 metres of the sewerage system which is capable of being effectively connected either directly or through a private drain. Other charges as fixed by resolution of the Council. 23. A uniform charge of $3OO (three hundred dollars) for each dwelling unit served directly or through a private drain to the public sewerage system in the Tuahiwi Sewer Area which annual charge shall be $l5O (one hundred and fifty dollars) in respect of rateable property situated within 30 metres of the sewerage system which is capable of being effectively connected either directly or through a private drain. A uniform charge of $22 (twenty two dollars) on each occupied dwelling unit situated within the Cust Community Centre District and $l4 (fourteen dollars) on each occupied dwelling unit situated within the Rangiora Riding. 25 A uniform annual charge of $36.40 in respect of each dwelling unit or occupied building situated within the Urban Division or in the residential, urban, rural-residential or industrial zones of the Rural Division which are adjacent to the Urban Division or in Woodend, and are serviced by the refuse removal service. 26. A uniform annual charge of $23.80 in respect of each dwelling unit or occupied building within the residential or urban zones on the Rural Division which is serviced by the refuse removal service, except those properties adjacent to the Urban Division or in And’such water rates as the Kaiapoi Borough Council shall direct the Rangiora District Council to collect on its behalf. ■ And such rates as the North Canterbury Catchment Board and the Ashley Waikan Pest Destruction Board shall direct the Rangiora District Council to collect on its behalf. The foregoing rates and charges shall be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April 1987 and ending on the 31st day of March 1988 and shall be due and payable in the following instalments at the Council Office, Rangiora where valuation rolls and rate records are open for inspection during office hours. In terms of Section 71 of the Rating Act a penalty of ten percent (10%) will be added to instalments outstanding on the following dates: URBAN DIVISION Instalment No 1 due and payable 1 April 1987.
