Reuters plans new service
NZPA-Reuter London Reuters Holdings, the world news and informa- . tion organisation, has unveiled a new service to provide real-time quotations on every significant stock, commodity, options and futures exchange in the world. The Equities 2000 quotations service, due to be I launched within a few weeks, will be based on the world’s most comprehensive real-time quotations database, linked by a high-speed data communications network, the company said. Equities 2000 was designed as the first of a I series of information pro-
ducts using the company’s Integrated Data Network, -which seeks to provide rapid information from larger databases. IDN also allows users greater choice in the selection and formating of information, Reuters said. The Equities 2000 database already contains over 55,000 real-time quotations of stocks, bonds and related options from about 75 stock exchanges. Commodities 2000 will carry about 18,000 quotations on commodity, financial and energy futures, together with related options, from more than 30 exchanges.
