Japanese package
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo Japan has unveiled an emergency economic package of more than 6000 billion yen (SUS 42 billion) which it hopes will stimulate domestic demand and boost imports.
The 11-point package, adopted at a meeting of economic ministers, calls for 5000 billion yen (SUS3S billion) in additional public-sector outlays and more than 1000 billion yen (SUS 7 billion) in tax cuts, officials said. The size of the package was significantly higher than expected.
