Lamb prices continue upward movements

Lamb prices continued to rise slowly at the Addington market yesterday. Values were similar or slightly better than at last week’s sale in spite of another large yarding. Woolly ram lambs were keenly sought by buyers as were woolly ewes and hoggets. Beef prices remained much the same as last week although the yarding was much smaller. • Fewer pigs were offered for sale yesterday and prices increased. Prime lambs Another large yarding of lambs resulted in prices rising slightly on last week’s. Heavy ram lambs continued to be in demand with top-quality animals fetching as much as $42. Mediumweight lambs sold between $25 and $29 and lighter lambs between $22 and $24. The occasional pen of light woolly spring lambs sold as high as $26 or $2B.
