Goat fibre testing service

A fully commercial goat fibre testing service will be available from Whatawhata Hill Country Research Station by midJune.

The new facility will provide complete fleece testing services for Cashmere and Angora

producers. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Whatawhata station has a long history of fibre testing and is well placed to provide a commercial service, according to the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Moyle.

Staff have been involved in wool testing for 20 years and mohair and cashmere testing for the last five years. Mr Moyle said Whatawhata offers specialised buildings and equipment and staff with considerable expertise.
