Computer stolen from display

A $3700 micro-com-puter was stolen from an unattended display stand at the University of Canterbury’s School of Engineering about lunchtime yesterday. The computer, a selfcontained portable model, was one of several exhibits of technical equipment at the university for the annual conference of the Institute of Professional Engineers. Tha theft occured while a stand was left unattended between 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

Sergeant John McCormick said the computer is a Husky Hunter model built by Actronic Systems, Ltd.

The police believe there are only two other similar models in Christchurch, both owned by Government departments.
