A 35-year-old, three bedroom home at 10 McMillan Ave was passed in at $175,000 when offered for auction on-site on April 23. It was sold iminediately afterward for $lBO,OOO. The house was of timber construction and had a 1984 Government valuation of $135,000. The auction was held on a wet day which reduced the number attending to eighteen. Bidding was described as average by auctioneer, Mr Philip Alexander, of Sherris and Robertson, Ltd. Mr Alexander also conducted the auction of a small holding of 6333 sq m in old Tai Tapu Road, on May 1. Conducted pn-site the auction drew a large crowd of about fifty.
