Scripts by young writers

Plays by New Zealand writers aged between 12 and 20 are wanted by a Wellington theatre. Downstage Theatre is looking for scripts by young writers to be performed at its Youth Theatre Festival later this year. The plays will be performed by young actors from the Downstage youth theatre classes. They will be rehearsed during the August school holidays, and presented during the

week-long festival in September. People wanting to enter scripts should write for an application form to P.O. ’ Box 9767, Wellington. The closing date for entries is Monday, June 15. . There is also a possibility some of the playwrights who submit plays will be invited to participate in Interplay 88. This is an international festival of young playwrights, which will be held in Sydney during August, 1988.
