Man asleep on road
PA Whangarei The police believe a Whangarei man, aged 27, had been asleep on the road, when he was struck by a car and killed about five kilometres east of Maungaturoto on State highway 12. Senior-Sergeant Tino Tabak, of Whangarei, said that the accident happened at 8.30 p.m. yesterday. The man’s name has not been given until next-of-kin are informed.
