PA Auckland Auckland trounced Bay of Plenty, 40-8, to win the New Zealand Rugby League Challenge Cup on Saturday. Bay led, 8-0, after 35 mins, with a try by Paul Nahu, converted by Rusty Campbell who also kicked a penalty. But thereafter the visitors offered little resistance as Auckland increased the tempo. Earlier, Auckland had passed up two opportunities to put points on the
board with comfortable penalty kicks, but Peter Brown was under instructions from coach Bob Bailey to run the penalties.
