Coromandel man’s body identified

PA Hamilton The police have established the identity of a body found beside the Tapu - Coroglen - Coromandel Road on April 18. The Hamilton CI.B. said yesterday the man was Robert James Gawith, aged 23, of Coromandel, who was last seen in August, 1986, and had not been reported missing. Inspector Lex Denby said injuries to the body indicated Mr Gawith was subjected to violence before his death.

The death is now being treated as homicide and the police have set up a base at Coromandel. Detective Chief Inspec-

tor Rex Miller and a group of detectives, are making inquiries in the Coromandel area. They seek any Information from any person who may have seen Mr Gawith before his disappearance.
