Booksellers’ executive

PA Wellington The Booksellers’ Association has appointed a new executive director, Mr John Schiff. The president of the association, Mr Pat O’Sullivan, said that Mr Schiff was appointed at a time when booksellers were facing difficult challenges. The trade had been affected by the high cost of imports and a fall in consumers’ discretionary spending, which was being reflected in the general drop in consumer spending.

“Mr Schiff has come to us after three years as executive director of the Crafts Council,” Mr O’Sullivan said.
