Skeggs to go public

One of the South Island’s largest private companies will go public soon when $2O million worth of shares in Skeggs Corp, Ltd, are offered for subscription. The chairman, Mr Cliff G. Skeggs, who is also Mayor of Dunedin, said i yesterday that arrange- i ments were well advanced for the float and a i prospectus would be i launched on May 7. i He wanted to see a ' wide spread of share- i holders and would look i favourably on applications 1 from Otago, Southland < and Nelson, where the company had its orgins 1 and its main fishing in- 1 terests. The public issue will be i of 20 million 50c shares, 1 at a 50c premium.
