Forestry division
Elders Pastoral is unique among stock and station companies in that it runs a forestry division alongside its more usual rural divisions.
The forestry division was developed within the company to assist fanners who had woodlots or small forestry holdings as part of their farms. It has grown to include forest management for companies, syndicates, and local authorities as well as for small individual growers. Elders Forestry Division is represented by Mr Hugh Jolliffe, who has been operating in Canterbury for 18 months. He has had more than 20 years experience in forestry and has recently introduced a full range of forestry services to Elders. These include feasibility studies for forest establishment, manage-
ment, harvesting and marketing.
“We provide a consultancy service for both the owner of the small, twohectare woodlot and for the company with forests of hundreds of hectares,” says Mr Jolliffe.
