PACE 2.0 released
Wang New Zealand, Ltd, has introduced a major new release of the Professional Application Creation Environment (PACE), Wang’s set of database, decision support, and development tools for its VS computers.
PACE 2.0 includes enhancements in the areas of application development, integration with Wang applications such as Wang Office, and the ability to incorporate different forms of information into PACE-based applications.
The release increases the power of the PACE data dictionary with the ability to describe more fully the computations, processing rules and integrity rules for data stored in the database.
In addition to providing user tools for designing a local database and retrieving local database in-
formation, PACE also provides the ability to directly query mainframe database. Other new features include text fields that support words-in-text searches, extensive data validation capabilities, integrated management of Wang Word Processing and WP Plus documents in database applications, and integration with VS Wang 20/20* spreadsheet and Wang Office electronic mail functions.
