Welgas deal
Welgas Holdings, Ltd, has secured its second compressed natural gas (CNG) technology contract in China. The latest contract will be undertaken in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province where large natural gas fields are situated and wide-scale interest is being shown in the application of CNG to road transport vehicles, Welgas chief executive, Mr D. A. Johnston, said. Welgas will supply and commission New Zealand made equipment for a large CNG refuelling station in Chengdu, the first public CNG station in China, and carry out vehicle conversions for cars and trucks. Pac Dunlop buy Pacific Dunlop, Ltd, said it had acquired the remaining 50 per cent of Sasine Pty, Ltd, it did not already own. Sasine runs the Beaurepairs For Tyres and McLeod Tyres stores in South Australia and Western Australia.
