Israel ‘paying Pollard bills’
NZPA-Reuter Tel Aviv Israel is paying the legal bills of Jonathan Pollard, a United States Navy intelligence analyst jailed for life for spying for the Jewish State, Israeli Radio said yesterday.
Asked to comment on the report, which follows mounting public pressure on the Government to
help Pollard, a Foreign Ministry spokesman in Jerusalem told Reuters: “We have nothing on that.”
The radio said “State elements in Israel” indirectly sent James Hibey, a Washington lawyer for Pollard and his wife, Anne, SUSBO,OOO to help cover the couple’s legal fees.
